Peace in your Home

Isn’t it crazy how we can be walking so close with God one day and in another feel so distant from Him. This is so apparent in my life when we have arguments and fight in our home. When we are stressed out and short with each other.

God tells us in 1 Peter 3:11 to not just merely want peace but to pursue it and go after it.

1 Peter 3:11 (AMP)

11 Let him turn away from wickedness and shun it, and let him do right. Let him search for peace (harmony; undisturbedness from fears, agitating passions, and moral conflicts) and seek it eagerly. [Do not merely desire peaceful relations with God, with your fellowmen, and with yourself, but pursue, go after them!]

If we really want to see God work in our homes we have to keep Satan out. We have to be on our guard constantly to be patient with each other and listen to one another.

Proverbs 13:10 NIV

Where there is strife, there is pride, but wisdom is found in those who take advice.

I pray that I can rely on God’s strength to keep my mouth shut before I say things that hurt the ones I love the most. As far as it depends on me that I can be patient and calm no matter what everyone else chooses at that time. I pray that I take this seriously because God is alive and doing great things in our lives.

1 Peter 5:8Amplified Bible (AMP)

Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [[a]in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour.

Romans 12:18Amplified Bible (AMP)

18 If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone

Relationships that we have with the ones around us everyday are the most important.  They directly effect our  walk  with God and how He can use us that day.  Don’t let Satan ruin what God is doing and going to do by pulling us down with Strife in our homes.
